Tarsanas in Skala Potamias of Thassos is a beautiful listed building, which has now been turned into a folklore museum. It is located on the edge of the busy beach of the settlement which today is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the island. The stone traditionally built two-story building of Tarsana in Skala Potamias, stands out with its brick roof and wooden windows. It was built in the last century to serve the needs of the monks who came from Mount Athos. Gradually, with the change of conditions, it was abandoned, until it was recently renovated and today it is a cultural center of the wider area, as it often hosts various cultural events.
